CD Review

BLUEGRASS COUNTRY
COMMENTS
I've listened to your project 4x in a row & I am hooked!  If anyone wants to know about the roots of "country music" just have them listen to the 14 songs on this project & they will feel as though they have attended "Tom's Bluegrass Country Music School".  All of the songs on this project were fine traditional songs that "bluegrass & country music fans" have listened to for many years.  While listening to this project, I found myself singing along with almost all the songs on this project.  The musicians on "Bluegrass Country" were top notch & blended together perfectly.  The pedal steel on several of the songs was a nice touch!  The vocals were heartfelt & you could hear the fervor in their voices as they sang each song.  I can't wait to share this fine project with my listeners.  I'm sure it will be a winner!!
Thank you for sharing your fine project with us.
Cordially,
Al Shusterman

Message from Tom...

I got a call last night from one of Tomoko's bridge partners who received a copy of the cd from Tomoko recently.  She said she really enjoyed the cd because it reminded her of the songs she used to hear at home.  She is a widow in her seventies. She said she especially enjoyed Bury Me Beneath the Willows because her parents both asked to be buried under the willow trees in the cemetery near their their home.

After talking to her I realized that there are probably alot of people like her who would enjoy having music they can identify with.  The question is;  how do we get the word out to those kind of people...?

Howdy Folks

I think the fun originating from the CD Project is just beginning. I base my opinion on several things that have happened lately.

1. Tomoko gave a copy to her bridge partner. This lady (who is not particularly into the music scene) says she listens to it it over and over.

2. I sent a copy to my niece in Florida. She listened to it for the first time while driving on the freeway and got so interested that she drove right past the place where she was supposed to exit. (She has ordered 8 copies to give to all of her family)

3. Sent a copy to my niece in Illinois. She has ordered 3 copies for her kids. She says her son has purchased an unused high school building in Plymouth Ill. where he has opened up a business which has a flea market on weekends. He has blue grass groups in to play so my niece is going to give him a copy of the cd which he will use to entertain the flea market customers. The amazing part is this is the same place I started my high school music teaching career. I'm sure, when the word gets out about the cd, we'll get a lot of orders from the people who knew me back then.

I guess all we need to do is seed the nation with cds then sit back and wait for the crops to come in.

After 50 plus episodes of listening to the cd from beginning to end, I'm convinced that there is more to this cd than meets the eye (ear) the first time you listen to it. I think we should congratulate ourselves on creating a work of art that will be around for an extended period of time.
